Half-term may be over but your little rugrats still deserve a few treats and days out every now and again, especially now that summer’s on the way. However, family outings are becoming increasingly expensive, what with transport costs, admission fees and the escalating price of food and drink.

If you play online bingo, why not use your bingo winnings to treat the kids to a day at the zoo or a trip the cinema? Even if it’s just to the local park, where you splash out on lunch and an ice cream – the kids will love it.

If you haven’t tried online bingo yet, Tasty Bingo is the best place to start. The site offers a 200 per cent deposit bonus for new players, and you’ll also get a welcome gift of either cash, wine or chocolates when you sign up.

Once you’re a registered member of the site, you will have full access to its games, competitions and promotions – not to mention its prizes! You can win anything from a tenner to hundreds or maybe thousands of pounds – if your luck is in!

So go on, play now and give the kids the super summer they deserve (then maybe they’ll be quiet for five minutes!).

Just as pupils need regular breaks to get away from their books and computer screens in order to recharge their batteries for another productive session, teachers need the same- and this is why a relaxing and refreshing staff room is a must.

The vast proportion of schools are facing really tight budgetary restrictions at the moment, and as the needs of pupils are at the top of the agenda, many staff rooms have had to take a bit of a back seat.

A staff room which is in dire need of a major overhaul isn’t going to provide any teacher with the most relaxing break around though, although luckily there are some really affordable ways of transforming a staff room for the better.

Treating walls to a fresh lick of paint will instantly make all the difference- and without the need to spend a huge amount. Plus, you’re almost certain to be able to find plenty of volunteers.

New comfy seats can also make a huge difference, and can be picked up really affordably second hand. You could even see if there is anyone kind enough to donate seating for free.

Drinks machines can also make amazing additions to a school staff room, and machines dispensing hot and cold drinks can provided much needed refreshment or a much needed energy boost.

If you are planning to have a baby I have just the horror story for you!

I was a mere 7 ½ stone before I was pregnant and a size 6 no less. Went on to get preggers and within 8 months was 2 stone heavier and covered in stretch marks, on having my baby I remain 1 stone heavier and still covered in stretch marks.

My message is if you are quite vain or value your current pre-baby body and figure do not have a baby, however if you are a little on the large size and don’t really care about getting fatter or you are planning to use the fact you are pregnant to stuff your face and blame it on the fact you are eating for two………. Go Ahead!!!!

I prefer:

Diet coke to Normal coke

Sweetners to Sugar

I also think that it is better for you to have diet to alternative full fat things, then you won’t get fat and also you need to do a bit of exercise too, otherwise if you keep eating fat and sugar you will end up overweight and have to have a gastric by-pass, which is probably quite painful. So my advice is stay on a permanent diet and do some exercise to stop you from dying a slow painful death.

You know what you need to do, don’t you?? well do you? I think so!

However I’m not sure that the films are suitable for younger children, my son was 7 when he watched The Philosophers Stone and was really quite frigtened by the great big snake at the end and there was a lot of blood flowing about!

The character of Voldemort is also quite a frightening character, even I am quite scare of him. I have nothing else to say about Harry potter and this blog will probably go unread.

Why are children so bored during the half term holidays?

How hard is it to plan a whole week of activities for your children to keep them entertained and not hear the dreaded words “I’m bored, what can I do?”

I tend to do all of the below:

Trips to the Park

Painting

Baking

Lots of outdoor play

Trips to library

Trips to the Museum

If I fit all these trips and activities with a little careful planning I can usually get through the week without them getting too bored. With all the outdoor play they usually get quite tired and easier to please.

This gives me great hope for the futures generation of children; I believe the national curriculum is really doing its self-justice!

Many of us with full time employment are unable to get to a college to further our education. I found personally that looking into home learning was the best way for me to gain those extra qualifications I wanted.

I didn’t need any previous knowledge of the courses I wanted to do, I could access the online community to interact with other home learners for any advice etc. There is such a wide range of courses that it took me all day to finally decide which one I wanted to do.

By doing home learning I have gained a recognized professional qualification!!

Many children of all ages are sad that the summer period is coming to an end and it’s that time again where they start either a new school or a new school year. There are lots of changes coming their way…this can sometime cause children to feel a little bit stressed.

Everyone should encourage their children that being worried about going back to school is perfectly normal and reassure that school is a fact of life and that by getting an excellent education gives you so many opportunities in life when you are older.

We should all also think about the teachers who are about to gain a whole new classroom full of students whom they do not yet know, this can be a little stressful for them too.
